So I am not really sure where this week went. By the time I knew it, it was the weekend and after a second or two, it is time to head back to work.
I’ve started in on studying for a second round of RHCE classes, so I imagine that I will have less time to post here.
That being said, here is what I’ve found this week. I don’t have any comments on the following, it is more of a “look-book” type of post. No comments, just pictures.
So this past week left me with not a lot of time to parse through the numerous shirts that caught my eye.
Tees
For the days I feel on top of my game.
Kallusive has always struck me as awesome. I had the “Protector of the Kode” a few weeks ago.
On the back of this one:
The same continuous mind numbing rhetoric overwhelming the ears… Environmental surroundings crashing down on you like tidal wave, constantly beating your brain into submission… telling you who to be, what to be, how to live, dress, act, and think… Fitting in this perfect little box is their plan for you, blindly following the next being in front of you… Stifling individuality and independence, before long you’ve become a robot, another battery to propel their world, until the day you learn to… SMASH THE COOKIE CUTTER… And break free of the mold, shattering the very existence laid for you to follow… You cannot fit into any given form, shape, style, or stereotype… You are who you are. Be true to your independent self.
This week, I have two shirts here from Jeepney. Aside from the sweet tees, what I really like about this brand is that they divide their on-line store in to two sections, their street store and their pride store.
These are two of the shirts that I’m really loving right now.

I had never heard of this before but remember “fart hands”, there is a whole musical genre for this.
That is all I got this week. Next week, Plaid is in.
While I love my Frank Gehry watch to no end ( I have two of them), the upcoming Texas summer has me thinking that I need a new watch. The leather band on this one gets too hot. Nobody wants a sweaty wrist.
So a little something interesting about watches I found out a while back.
Analog watches as well as clocks are often marketed showing a display time of approximately 10:09 or 10:10. This creates a visually pleasing smile-like face on upper half of the watch. Digital displays often show a time of 12:38, where the increases in the numbers from left to right culminating in the fully-lit numerical display of the 8 also gives a positive feeling.[6][7]

Knowing that a leather band is out of the question, that only left me with metals such as titanium, and gold or synthetics such as nylon, and plastic. Well, me being me, the metals are out as well. Not that I don’t want one, it is just not what I am looking for at the moment.
This leaves me with synthetics. My choices come down to pretty much nylon or rubber.
So in my search for a new watch I came across a few of them that really caught my eye. Granted the two Nixons are just different colorways of each other. The Flüd watch by far is my favorite at this moment.
Maybe another day I will write about choosing a metal band for a watch.
So this week, I’m trying another angle. The past few weeks, I’ve piecing together little clips of my week. Usually nothing is tied together, and besides, my previous attempt failed miserably.
A few weeks ago while watching KarmaloopTV, the host dug in to Oakley for their line Wayfarer sun glasses. My first impression was “those trend spotting jerks!”. But that a got me thinking on the history of the frames.
Wayfarers were designed in 1952 by optical designer Raymond Stegeman, who procured dozens of patents for Bausch and Lomb, Ray-Ban’s parent company.[8] The design was a radically new shape, “a mid-century classic to rival Eames chairs and Cadillac tail fins.”[6] According to design critic Stephen Bayley, the “distinctive trapezoidal frame spoke a non-verbal language that hinted at unstable dangerousness, but one nicely tempered by the sturdy arms which, according to the advertising, gave the frames a ‘masculine look.’”[6] Wayfarers, which took advantage of new plastic molding technology,[6][4] marked the transition between a period of eyewear with thin metal frames and an era of plastic eyewear.[9]
So Ray-ban used to be part of Bausch and Lamb. They sold off Ray-ban to Luxottica ( an Italian company ). Oakley also happens to be a part of the same company.
At this point, I’m wondering what the differences there are between the Ray Ban Wayfarer and Oakley Frogskins. From the two pictures below, there are some slight differences. I’ve read in some forums that the Frogskins are a re-issue of something Oakley did previously.
After all of that, I wish I had seen this combo last summer. Even if neither is really my style.
So, it is time for another post. I started this one out on the iPhone just to play with the wordpress app. Anywho, this week has been a bit more musically inclined.
This past week was also SXSW. For at least the last few years, there have been collections of all of the songs made available on the SXSW website put out as a torrent. For this year, here is the link http://sites.google.com/site/sxsw2009torrent/
And the last one. I mean I had to include this video.
As I get more hats, I’m going to need something to carry them in.
Really, I just want to know how well this works.

A little Random
So after a failed order of a round of Purple Geckos by a friend, everybody seemed to know something was wrong with the drink, but nobody really knew what was missing. So for future reference, here is a proper recipe for a Purple Gecko.
